Chapter 4
Air

Take sun bath then air bath. Even as the bath in water is very important for keeping the skin clean what is known as air bath is equally important. Air bath is taken in the privacy of your home somewhere in the backyard of your home or somewhere with the minimum dress on your body with maximum of the skin exposed to air. The cool air early morning or late in the evening, especially when there is a breeze blowing, allow air to fall upon the skin. One third of the nerve endings of the body are on the skin and when cool air falls on the body you feel relaxed. The air bath is very effective. So having the least dress on the body [let it be khaddar or white cloth so that it allows some air even through the pores of the cloth] allow cool air to fall upon the skin. If there is a breeze on, you need not move. If there is no breeze you may move a little. You embrace the air. Let the air fall upon all the pores of the skin. The skin will stand to gain a lot. The air bath tones up the blood circulation, reduces blood pressure. It induces relaxation as it improves blood circulation. It improves all the functions of the body. In the Upanishads, which represent the wisdom of this nation, there is a mantra which means “Namasthe Vayo! – I bow down to you, you are the direct manifestation of God. God is all pervading, I cannot see Him but, by the fact that you are all-pervading, I can understand that you are the direct manifestation of God. Embrace that god, the Air God! Well, your health is assured. This is a worship.

In the 10th chapter of the Gita there is the description of the manifestations of God. You can see His manifestations, particularly very clearly. He says, “Of the mountains I am the Himalayas”. “Of the cleansing agents” says the Lord, “I am air”. If you want to keep the body clean internally, the only way is to breath better and supply air as fully as you can and this is the only way to keep the body clean. Have air bath.

So, with air bath, sun bath, sensible food according to your hunger, but mostly vegetables and fruits, avoiding all the processed food and other things, with occasional fasting, and as you begin to improve the health, your skin automatically gets cleared. That is the beauty about it in nature cure. We can radically cure any disease because the treatment is simple. We do not treat disease. We correct mistakes in living. We improve the health of the patient. That is the approach. So much on how to treat skin diseases.
